- Q: Do I need access to my log files?
A: No, TotalTracker does not require your having access to any log
files nor any server side scripting or database-access.
- Q: How does TotalTracker actually work?
A: TotalTracker works with a piece of source-code you have to implement
on every page of your website that you whish to track. Technically, this tracking-code
is nothing but a very tiny and invisible graphic that won't have any effect
on the performance or design of your website.
- Q: I have full access to my log files, is there still a reason to
use TotalTracker?
A: Yes, there are some advantages: Even if you have access to your
log files you will have to find and install a logfile-analysis application
to get comparable reports. Moreover, the TotalTracker tracking-engine works
more accurately than common logfile-based statistic solutions. For example,
it detects and counts visitors who are accessing your site via a proxy-server,
a case in which no seperate IP would be logged to your logfile.
- Q: Once I sign up for TotalTracker-Free, can I cancel my account
any time I want?
A: Yes, simply log on to your account, go to menu preferences and click
on the link "cancel account". Please note that your account including your
entire data will be deleted.
- Q: I lost my password, what can I do?
A: Please click on the link "forgot password?" right under the login-area
which is located top-right on every page. Then follow the instructions. Your
password will be sent to the e-mail address you signed up with.
- Q: I don't know how much traffic my website has, it could be more
or less than the maximum of 20,000 page impressions per month, what can I
do?
A: In this case, feel free to subscribe to TotalTracker-Free.The account
will be automatically removed later should your website exceed 20,000 page
impressions in the following month.
- Q: What happens with my data?
A: TotalTracker strictly respects your privacy: Your data will only
be stored and processed to make them available to you in your personal online-statistic.
Your online-statistic is password protected. TotalTracker will not refer your
data to any third party institution for commercial purposes neither use your
data for commercial purposes. If you ever decide to cancel your account your
data will be deleted.
